BURN COTTAGE WINES
Burn Cottage Vineyard is a renowned boutique winery located in the heart of Central Otago, New Zealand, near the town of Cromwell. Established in 2002, Burn Cottage is known for its uncompromising commitment to biodynamic principles, with a strong focus on sustainability and minimal intervention. The vineyard spans 28 hectares, of which approximately 10 are planted, primarily with Pinot Noir, the region's signature varietal.
Owned by the Sauvage family from the United States and guided by esteemed winemaker Claire Mulholland, Burn Cottage has quickly earned a reputation for producing some of New Zealand’s most expressive and elegant Pinot Noirs. The wines are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting both the complexity of the land and the purity of the fruit.
The vineyard site was carefully selected for its diverse soils, gentle slopes, and ideal microclimate, which contribute to the finesse and character of the wines. Burn Cottage wines often display layers of red and dark berry fruit, floral notes, and a refined earthy complexity, with excellent aging potential.
