MAUDE TASTING ROOM
Maude Wines began with Dawn and TG, two doctors who left medicine in 1994 to plant a vineyard in Wanaka, New Zealand. At that time, they were pioneers in Central Otago, establishing one of the region’s first ten vineyards on the north-facing slopes of the Maungawera Valley. With TG’s family roots in Hawkes Bay vineyards, they created the Mt Maude vineyard, the foundation of the Maude brand, known for its exceptional reserves. Their daughter SK, inspired by family tradition, studied winemaking and married Dan Dineen, a skilled Australian winemaker. Together, they expanded Maude, establishing a winery in 2006, acquiring additional vineyards, and building an exceptional reputation supported by distributors who shared their vision.
Maude Wines is a family-led, community-inspired business dedicated to producing quality wines. Influenced by mentors like Len Evans and Brokenwood’s Riggsy, they focus on creating great wines and learning from each step of the process. Today, with a committed team, Maude Wines continues to grow, driven by Dawn and TG’s original vision and the family’s dedication to honoring New Zealand’s winemaking heritage.
