In the early years of his winemaking journey, Matt Connell developed a deep passion for crafting wines that express site, season, and precision. With experience gained across respected vineyards in Central Otago, he set out to create a label focused on purity, balance, and minimal intervention winemaking.

Matt established his vineyard sites in the Bendigo region of Central Otago, recognising the area’s unique potential for producing structured and expressive Pinot Noir. Working closely with the land, he applies a thoughtful and hands-on approach, allowing the vineyard and fruit to guide each vintage. His focus remains on small-batch production, ensuring attention to detail at every stage.

Today, Matt Connell Wines is known for its single-vineyard expressions and refined winemaking style. Each release reflects the character of the Bendigo landscape, offering a true representation of Central Otago’s distinctive terroir.
