CARRICK Winery BANNOCKBURN
Carrick Vineyard, located in the heart of Bannockburn in Central Otago, New Zealand, is a distinguished name in the region's wine industry. Established in 1993 by former farmers Tony and Helen Rogers, Carrick began as a vision to create exceptional wines from the unique terroir of Bannockburn. The vineyard’s name, "Carrick," pays homage to the Carrick Range that frames the landscape, reflecting the deep connection between the land and the wines produced.
The Rogers family started with a modest planting of Pinot Noir, which quickly demonstrated the potential of the region’s schist soils and favorable climate. Central Otago’s extreme diurnal temperature range and the vineyard’s elevated location create ideal conditions for producing high-quality Pinot Noir. Over the years, Carrick has expanded its offerings to include other varietals such as Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Gris, broadening its appeal and showcasing the diversity of the region's capabilities.
Carrick Vineyard’s winemaking philosophy centers on sustainable and organic practices. The winery is committed to minimal intervention in both the vineyard and the cellar, aiming to produce wines that are a true reflection of their environment. This approach has garnered acclaim and contributed to the vineyard’s reputation for crafting refined and expressive wines.
In recent years, Carrick has continued to evolve, embracing modern winemaking techniques while staying true to its roots. The winery’s contemporary facilities and skilled team ensure that each vintage meets high standards of quality. Carrick has also become a popular destination for wine enthusiasts, offering tastings and cellar door experiences that highlight the exceptional qualities of Bannockburn wines.
Today, Carrick Vineyard stands as a prominent figure in Central Otago’s wine industry, celebrated for its commitment to excellence and its role in shaping the region’s global reputation.
